How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service; authenticate accounts; publish and manage listings; process orders and deliver paid or sponsored placement; send transactional messages and requested newsletters; respond to support, copyright, or removal requests; detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents; understand site performance; maintain backups; comply with law; and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use account information to make decisions about people in employment, housing, lending, insurance, education, or other similarly high-impact areas.
Legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform a contract or provide a requested service, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing IndieNew, and obtain consent where we ask for it, such as optional marketing or non-essential analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time for future processing.
Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed to operate IndieNew and meet legal obligations. Providers may include Google and GitHub for sign-in; Waffo Pancake and Stripe for checkout and payment management; Resend for transactional email and newsletters; hosting and database providers; and analytics providers configured in production, such as Google Analytics, OpenPanel, Umami, or Plausible. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Payment card data is processed by Waffo Pancake or another PCI-DSS payment provider and is not stored on IndieNew servers.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a transfer of the service. We do not provide personal information to advertisers for their own mailing lists.
International processing
IndieNew and its providers may process information in countries different from where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including contractual safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, and limit access to what is needed for the stated purpose.
Public submissions and external links
Anything you intentionally include in a public listing, including a name, email address, social handle, or product URL, may be publicly accessible. Do not include information you do not want published. External products and websites may collect information independently; review their privacy policies before interacting with them.
